Merry holidays with a recommendation that is not a Stardock tool for a change, and does not make TAXIFUNK earn any percentage by drawing it to your Christmas attention:

Emotipad is a program for fast easy insertion of nice images, anims, emoticons (which can even be smileys, but it is not just for that) into any forum article, web page, e-mail or other type of correspondence. To a certain extent, that even can mean messengers. However, there it allows for fast dropping of a link to wherever you shacked or FTP stored your favorite pics etc., inside MSN like things or AIM etc. it does not directly insert images.

It DOES directly stick pictures + more in message boards, outlook express, shout boxes if they support image insertion and works for bbc code, html, or the mere URL form etc. on a mere drag and drop from a little box you can adjust the size of and keep where you want, on top or not, docked to an edge or not. This program IS NOT the well known but ill famed free spyware ridden program that made many users hate and keep distance to anything containing the remotest similarity to the word smiley. NO! And here´s why:

IT COSTS MONEY! Yes. And that´s what makes it reliable and trustworthy. But it does not cost a fortune, and can be tested free. Now this is your choice. Do you want something free everyone hates or do you want to test something worthwhile free and pay a small amount and have something you use every day.

This skinnable application for which many skins are available free and can be skinned by yourself using almost any simple texture tile of an adequate size is usable instantly without learning all of its features. Yet it allows for many things beyond the range of just using images in a url insertion - custom snippets like a text or command macro can even be saved in html or bbc codes or normal text like and called up by hotkeys - im- and export of whole libraries to htmls for posting numerous tiny images at once (observe copyright issues though), categories of your own libraries - exchanging them with others - support of IE and firefox - divine support forum readable when you are not registered as well, with interviews and links on and to friendly makers of smileys, avatars + collections of those you can use.

Don´t hesitate to ask questions you think are embarassing, for that just register free at the forum which is independent from whether or not you extend or use emotipad in a paid or test version.

Some people manage to avoid expensive web design tools by using this, because basically they want to improve the looks of their pages and comments with mostly images, harmless text and not much more, but browsers do not support many colors + fonts for all users, it is often better to just use a sign, meaning an attractive static or animated image showing the word instead. This text can then be any font and size and color and still will be readable by all browsers even when not complying to WCT3 standards.

Concentrate on the plus version, the only one worthwhile because it contains the mail AND forum features and all the extras. Why fuss about which cheaper subversion of a tool worth less than $20,- or not you should test. Test em all at once this way.
There´s 1 thing you can do here with each other, say you are interested in a comment and see who else would like to order it using the slight reduction for succeeding orders by friends. I am keeping my friendship link out of that because there will be no discussion about admins getting percentages etc. which I would not get anyway, and I´m a bit too busy to worry about 3,-$ less or more. First you test free anyway, then if you like it you can see here whom to split the costs with if its about that.

You know how I got interested 1 day? adni18 started custom drawing smileys even on request for SkinBase fans we could use in the chat box, signatures, messageboard posts, PMs, comments, and this was extremely important because we dont have much image insertion to illustrate things or make communication shorter + more colorful.
